The Technical Detailer position at ShowFab handles:
- Assisting the Technical Design team in producing fabrication drawings and organized drawing packages.
- Utilizing CAD/CAM and other software to support fabrication solutions for a team of highly skilled and dedicated craftsmen.
- Supporting the development of 3D models, assemblies, and Bills of Materials.
- Updating drawing packages based on internal reviews and redline markups.
- Assisting with CNC-ready geometry preparation and basic CAM workflows.
- Coordinating with Project Management, Production, CNC, Graphics, and Scenic departments.
- Maintaining organized Vault file structures and revision control.
- Supporting field measurements, documentation, and survey integration as needed.
- Learning modern fabrication workflows involving CNC Routers, Lasers, Press Brakes, and related technologies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, Rhino, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft, Adobe, Google, and Slack work suites.
- Interest in fabrication techniques, construction methods, and production workflows.
- Practical shop or fabrication experience is a plus, but not required.
- Candidates from technical schools, vocational programs, maker spaces, theater tech programs, or fabrication-focused backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Desire to grow within a fast-paced Technical Design department.
Job Type: Full-Time HourlySalary Range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
