Associate Project Manager

The Opportunity

ShowFab is a specialty fabrication company serving the broadcast, live entertainment, experiential, luxury retail, exhibit, and themed entertainment industries. We bring creative ideas, technical problem solving, and skilled fabrication together to turn client visions into physical reality. Our projects move from concept and estimating through technical design, fabrication, logistics, and installation.

We are looking for an Associate Project Manager to join our Project Management team and become an important part of that process. In this role, you will work alongside experienced Project Managers while taking direct ownership of key portions of active projects, including external trucking and freight, project travel, purchasing coordination, and internal project support.

You will also gain increasing exposure to material takeoffs, estimating, proposals, ShowCut orders, ModTruss sales and rentals, and the broader process of managing custom fabrication projects. This position is designed for someone who wants to grow within project management and is curious about how things get built, organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast moving environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Project Logistics

• Own the coordination of external trucking and freight for active projects.
• Source trucking and freight options, obtain pricing, and coordinate pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate schedules and changes with Project Managers, Production, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Track logistics details and proactively identify potential timing, cost, or delivery issues.

Travel and Field Coordination

• Own travel coordination for Project Management and Production staff.
• Arrange flights, hotels, ground transportation, and other project related travel needs.
• Coordinate and prepare per diems and travel information for site teams.
• Maintain clear itineraries and communicate travel details and changes to the appropriate team members.

Purchasing and Project Support

• Create and process purchase orders in support of active projects.
• Research materials, products, vendors, and fabrication resources as requested by Project Managers.
• Obtain pricing, availability, and lead time information to support project decisions.
• Help maintain accurate purchasing and project information within Sage Contractor 100.
• Follow up with vendors and internal teams to help keep procurement aligned with project schedules.

Estimating and Project Development

• Assist Project Managers with material takeoffs, preliminary estimates, and proposal development.
• Gather vendor and subcontractor pricing to support estimating.
• Generate ShowCut orders and coordinate ModTruss sales and rentals.
• Develop an understanding of how estimating decisions connect to fabrication methods, scheduling, logistics, and project profitability.

What This Role Is and Is Not

This role owns defined pieces of project execution, especially logistics and travel. You will be expected to follow through, communicate clearly, anticipate needs, and solve problems rather than simply pass information from one person to another.

This is not a purely administrative coordinator position. At the same time, it is not yet a full Project Manager role. You will work under and alongside experienced Project Managers while building the technical, financial, and operational understanding needed to take on increasingly complex project responsibilities.

Who We Are Looking For

• 2 to 3 years of related professional experience.
• Prior experience within live entertainment, scenic fabrication, events, exhibits, or a similar custom production environment is preferred.
• An associate degree or higher is preferred.
• Experience with Sage Contractor 100 is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.
• Clear and professional communication with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Comfort working with numbers, pricing, schedules, and project details.
• Curiosity about fabrication, materials, logistics, and how projects move from an idea through installation.
• A willingness to take ownership, follow through, ask questions, and solve problems.

Project Managers trust you to run with logistics and travel from start to finish. Your work reduces friction for the team because details are handled accurately and issues are identified early. Over time, you deepen your understanding of estimating, fabrication, purchasing, and project flow, and you steadily take ownership of more complex portions of projects.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
