Union Apprenticeship

Job Duties:

Our three-year apprenticeship program is designed to immerse participants in every facet of the specialty fabrication industry, culminating in an experience that prepares apprentices to emerge as well-rounded candidates and leaders in their field. Apprentices will receive both mentorship and technical training as they rotate through different departments, including our warehouse, metal shop, carpentry shop, and automation and electrics department. A qualified candidate should minimally possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials & objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with respect to machine guards and PPE.
  • Fundamental understanding of Shop Math and Geometry
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform fractional calculations to the 1/16”
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to take direction from team leaders and managers.
  • Ability to learn and retain fabrication skills and concepts that may not be familiar.
  • Ability to work within a group of highly skilled and experienced coworkers and learn from them by supporting their day-to-day operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 

  • $21.70 per hour  (Month 0-6)
    $24.53 per hour (Month 6-18)
    $26.54 per hour (Month 18-36)
  • This is a union position that will work under a CBA with IATSE Local 21.  Importantly, applicants are not required to be current members of the union to apply. Schedule:

ShowFab operates within a very demanding field with hard deadlines and short turnaround times. Overtime and weekend work is frequently offered and necessary to meet deadlines.

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Basic experience with wood and metal products and tools.
