Project Manager

 

 

 

Showman Fabricators is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager. Our ideal candidate will be equally comfortable focusing on a variety of project types, such as Television, Broadway, Live Events and other non-traditional markets. The PM position at Showman is the primary client contact and handles:
• initial bidding and value engineering
• closing the deal
• determining project approach (construction technique and material choices)
• leading the Showman team on executing the projects, coordinating with other trades, managing the designer, tracking the budget, and on-site installation

All candidates should be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite, and be comfortable on a PC, Outlook, and Adobe. Experience in Timberline, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD a plus.

Associate Project Manager

Showman Fabricators is currently seeking an Associate Project Manager. Job Duties:

The APM position supports the Project Manager with all project coordination, and should have experience in scenery construction, theatrical design, or project management.

Required Skills and Experience:

All candidates should be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite, and be comfortable on a PC, Outlook, and Adobe. Experience in Timberline, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD a plus.

Technical Designer

Job Duties:

Utilizing CAD/CAM software to design and develop fabrication solutions for the entertainment and specialty fabrication industry. Producing documentation for construction as well as Conceptual design illustrations. Collaborating closely with Clients and Shop Craftsmen on a daily basis.Surveying work sites, venues, specialty equipment, and technology. Working with Architects and Structural Engineers to tailor solutions to meet the design, safety and structural needs of projects. Contacting vendors and to source materials, samples, and cut sheets on products. Prototyping of design concepts. Designing for modern automated fabrication equipment such as CNC Routers, Lasers, and Waterjet technology.

Required Skills and Experience:

Must be familiar with AutoCad or Autodesk Inventor. Basic experience with Microsoft office.Must have a bachelors degree in a related field, such as Theatrical Technical Design, Fine Art (sculpture), Architecture, Interior design or at least 4 years shop experience. Familiarity with wood and metal fabrication techniques required. Experience with CNC equipment desired, but not required. Must be willing to work 10-12 hours a day, weekend work is frequent. Must be capable of independent work as well as working in a group in both leadership and supportive roles. Detail oriented and organized.

Associate Technical Designer

Job Duties:

CNC Operator

Job Duties:

The utilization of state of the art Laser, Waterjet, Router and Press Brake machinery. Daily maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems. The operation of lifting assistance systems such as chain hoists, winches, and vacuum lifting apparatus. Troubleshooting of files and NC code through machine and software interfaces. Communicating with Shop craftsmen, engineers and team leaders to adapt to changes in project criteria.

Required Skills and Experience:

Must be capable of safe machine operation and maintenance. Familiarity with CNC equipment, G-Code, mechanical sytems, and materials is a plus, but not required. Basic computer skills a must. Familiarity with CAD and CAM software packages such as AutoCad, Inventor, Solidworks, Sigmanest, Enroute, Artcam, and Illustratoris a plus, but not required. Must be capable of lifting and spending long days on your feet. Must be willing to work 8 – 14 hours a day, weekend work is frequent. Night shift duties may also be required. Must be highly organized, team player, capable of troubleshooting frequently and adapting to quickly changing project demands.

Internship

Showman can start you off on what could turn out to be a career in the scenery business. An internship at Showman will expose you to state of the art techniques and currently employed industry practices while working side by side with some of the business’s best artisans. On any given day you could be working on a Broadway set, a game show, a cooking show, a sports program, a corporate display or a national tour.

Internship qualifications:

Applicants must have recently received a degree in technical theater or related program, or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or have a combination of education and experience related to technical and/or design development in theater or entertainment. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.  Please be available for a full time commitment of 8-26 weeks.

Outside Sales Representative

 

Full-time, Commission-based

Showman Fabricators is a well-established specialty fabricator serving Television, Theatrical and Architectural markets in the New York City area.

We are aggressively developing our new division, ShowCut CNC , to provide CNC cutting and machining services throughout the New York City Metro Region.

We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative, experienced and motivated, to cultivate new business opportunities and facilitate the growth of our CNC Job Shop.

Key Responsibilities

Develop leads and turn them into opportunities for sales
Engage decision makers through face-to-face, outside sales calls
Arrange meetings with prospects in order to demonstrate ShowCut CNC Services
Negotiate prices with potential customers and close sales
Work closely with Showman departments to coordinate and process sales
Provide value added services such as estimating and problem solving
Differentiate the quality of Showman’s products and services from the competition through presentations and demonstrations

Required Qualifications

3 Years Sales Experience in Machined Parts Services
Existing network of Industry Contacts
High level of enthusiasm and motivated by performance incentives
Ability to connect with decision makers and build lasting relationships
Comfortable hunting new business
Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word
Experience with CAD programs (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, etc.)
Valid driver’s license and Vehicle
